Five Things You Never Knew About Werewolves by Kryssie Fortune
Why are werewolves called Lycanthropes?
It seems werewolves have been around forever. The ancient Greeks coined the word lycanthrope. Lykoe for wolf and Anthropos for man
Are werewolves limited to America?
Not at all.
Argentinians used to really fear werewolves – or el lobison as they call them. They believed that the seventh son of an all-male family would turn into an el lobison.
Some families were so scared they murdered or abandoned their own children.
Eventually, President Juan Domingo Peron (1895-1974) announced he would give all seventh sons a gold medal when they were baptized and that they would receive a scholarship to pay for their studies until they reached 21.
What do American’s call their Werewolves?
They have the loupe garou, but he’s a bit of a French immigrant.
This is an unfortunate soul who has been cursed with lycanthropy. He can turn into a wolf at will. When he changes, he retains his sense of identity and purpose. He might be the best sort to meet on a dark night, as long as you haven’t wronged him.
Are there any other sorts of werewolves in America?
Native Americans have the Wendigo.
He’s all malice and evil intent. Since he loves the taste of human flesh, so he’d definitely one to avoid.
How do you kill a werewolf?
With silver.
Ancient scholars linked seven metals with seven planets. Gold for the Sun, Mercury for Mercury, Copper for Venus, Iron for Mars, Tin for Jupiter, Lead for Saturn, and Silver for the Moon.
Since the werewolf is a creature linked to the moon it makes sense that an element linked to the moon would kill it.
Oh, but the loupe garou…
He can change at will so don’t waste your silver on him.
Just run!
So why my interest in werewolves?
My latest book features two drop-dead gorgeous werewolves and a human female. As a breeder in an infertile world, it’s no wonder Cassie was Taken as Theirs.

As a breeder–one of the few fertile women left in a ruined, plague-ravaged world–Cassie would fetch a handsome price at auction, and selling her to the highest bidder was exactly what her captors had in mind… until two fearsome beasts decided to take her for themselves.
Eli and Dane have chosen Cassie for their mate, and when she makes a foolish attempt at escape she quickly ends up tearfully promising obedience as her bare bottom is soundly and shamefully punished. Her body’s response to their stern dominance cannot be denied, however, and it isn’t long before she is screaming out her intense, helpless pleasure as she is roughly and thoroughly claimed. But will Eli and Dane’s pack accept a human girl or will Cassie be an outsider forever?
Publisher’s Note: Taken as Theirs includes spankings and sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.
