Lammas - the feast of the first grain harvest.
For centuries, people have honoured the sun god in his guise as John Barleycorn with a loaf baked from the first wheatsheaf cut in the new harvest. If the harvest is good, traditionally a corn maiden is woven from the crop. After a bad harvest, workers weave a calleach, or crone.
Often the people gather for a harvest supper and share nature's bounty.
To honour the day, I'm posting a chart I made to publicise, my book, CURSE OF THE FAE. Why? Because the heroine was a pagan, more specifically, a witch.
